A number of Arsenal fans have pinched a line of the chant, changing it to: “Just sold your star, to Mikel Arteta.”
One grumpy West Ham fan shot back, saying: “That's original. Can't you think of a better song?”
Another said: “Short memories for a fanbase that often saw their club sell stars… Van Persie, Fabregas!”
A few Hammers fans saw the funny side though with one tweeting: “I'm a West Ham fan but that's pretty funny tbf.”
A fourth added: “We’ve got our star, Lucas Paqueta!!”

In the statement announcing Rice’s departure, Sullivan said: “I would like to make it clear to our supporters that we did not want to sell Declan. We wanted to build our team around him and made a series of improved, long-term contract offers to secure his future.
“However, once Declan made it clear that he wished to move on and seek a new challenge, the Club felt it would not be right to stand in his way, acting in the best interests of West Ham United.”
