Mikel Arteta’s side lost the game 5-0, their third defeat in three Premier League matches this season. They are now bottom of the league, have yet to score and have conceded nine goals.
The Gunners were up against it early on after Granit Xhaka’s red card in the 35th minute for a two-footed lunge on Joao Cancelo.

The nature of the emphatic loss will increase the pressure on Arteta after a poor start to the campaign; following on from defeats to Brentford and Chelsea in their first two fixtures.
After failing to see their side even have a shot on target at the Etihad, a section of the away support celebrated when Rodri scored City’s fourth goal in the 53rd minute.
Arsenal enjoyed just 19% of the possession in an overwhelmingly one-sided game.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is under increasing pressure after a poor start to the new season
The Gunners got off to the worst possible start as City cruised into a 2-0 lead inside 15 minutes thanks to goals from Ilkay Gundogan and Ferran Torres.
Gabriel Jesus added a third after Xhaka had been dismissed and Rodri made it 4-0 in the second half.
Torres notched his second of the game late on to seal the 5-0 victory and plunge Arteta’s future as Arsenal boss into further doubt.
The Gunners will seek their first points and goals of the Premier League season when they host newly promoted Norwich City after the international break.
