Arsenal discover Odsonne Edouard’s price tag after Celtic transfer enquiry

Arsenal have been informed of Odsonne Edouard's price tag after making an enquiry about the Celtic striker.

Edouard is in his fourth season at Celtic Park having first joined the club on a loan deal from PSG in 2017.

That move was made permanent 12 months later, with the Hoops paying £10million for the striker's services.

He has shone throughout his time in Glasgow, making 131 appearances and scoring 72 goals.

Even this season, with Celtic 18 points behind rivals Rangers, Edouard is the Scottish Premiership top scorer with 16 goals.

But 23-year-old is out of contract next summer, meaning Celtic could be forced to cash in on their star centre-forward.

Arsenal are said to have asked about Edouard's services, and the Hoops have responded by setting their asking price at £21.6million, according to Football.London.

The Gunners could be in need of a new striker this summer with the futures of Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang still uncertain.

Mikel Arteta's men aren't the only interested party, though, with Roma, AC Milan and Leicester all keeping tabs on the Bhoys man.

Transfer insider Ian McGarry told the Transfer Window Podcast: “We understand there is another striker on the market (as well as Erling Haaland) for significantly less in terms in transfer fee, but potentially someone who could be just as effective – that is Odsonne Edouard of Celtic.

“He is someone who is available for around 25 million euros (£21.5m).

"It is also our information that Arsenal are a club who have made a solid enquiry with regards to a transfer with the next window in the summer."
