Kieran Tierney could be on the move from Arsenal

Mikel Arteta wants reinforcements this summer as he prepares to guide Arsenal into the Champions League for the first time. Another Premier League title challenge is bound to also be on the agenda, and the Spaniard will hope four exciting signings can help rechallenge Manchester City.

Arsenal’s new kit for 2023/2024 is a stylish twist on a classic as it reinvents that mid-1990s vibe. A truly modern-looking shirt with a homage to the past, the Nike kit also includes a nod to the club’s iconic Invincible’s side in the finer details while catching the eye with the lightning bolt motif

Express Sport takes a look at Arteta’s potential 25-man squad for the 2023/24 season if he gets his way in the transfer window.

Goalkeepers – Ramsdale, Turner, Hein

There isn’t expected to be any change in the goalkeeper department. Aaron Ramsdale signed a new long-term contract in May and will continue as No 1.

United States international Matt Turner is a more than capable backup option, making seven appearances for the Gunners last season.

Karl Hein should play the role of third-choice goalkeeper. The 21-year-old has made one senior appearance for Arsenal but boasts experience, already earning 22 caps for Estonia.

Defenders – White, Tomiyasu, Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Kiwior, Zinchenko, Tierney

Ben White, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes and Oleksandr Zinchenko made up a resolute defence last term, tarnished by Saliba’s late injury.

There could be one change to that backline next term as Arsenal close in on a deal for Ajax’s Jurrien Timber, suited at right-back and centre-back.

Takehiro Tomiyasu, Jakub Kiowir, Gabriel and Kieran Tierney would make up a solid backup defence if the latter remains.

Rob Holding is thought to be heading for the exit door, and Tierney has been linked with joining him.

Midfielders – Rice, Jorginho, Lavia, Elneny, Odegaard, Vieira

Declan Rice would be the crown jewel of Arsenal’s summer. The Gunners are battling Manchester City for his signature as West Ham United demand at least £100m.

Granit Xhaka is a void Arteta needs to fill after his move to Bayer Leverkusen, and Thomas Partey looks likely to leave too.

It could see Romeo Lavia join from Southampton to form an exciting midfield three with Rice and Martin Odegaard.

Jorginho, Mohamed Elneny and Fabio Vieira can provide competition in the engine room.

Forwards – Saka, Nelson, Smith Rowe, Martinelli, Trossard, Havertz, Jesus, Nketiah

Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli should continue to develop as two of the Premier League’s most dangerous wingers.

Emile Smith Rowe, Reiss Nelson and Leandro Trossard stack Arteta’s options, with the investment to come down the middle.

Arsenal are set to complete the £65m signing of Kai Havertz from Chelsea as the Gunners look for more goals from their striker.

He will offer Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah healthy competition. Folarin Balogun will likely want a chance too, but he could leave for regular minutes after enjoying a breakthrough campaign on loan in France.
