Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin has reportedly told The Gunners that he wishes to leave North London this summer. According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Bellerin has his heart set on Inter Milan as his next club and wishes to join this summer.

The Italian champions want the Spaniard at first on loan, as they look to defend their Serie A title next season.

However, Arsenal want the deal to eventually become permanent, which the two clubs can’t seem to agree on.

The 26-year-old has been a long-time servant for Arsenal since 2013. Amassing 239 appearances for the Londoners and scoring 9 goals.

You’d struggle to imagine Arteta forcing Bellerin against his wishes to stay, so a move this summer is looking more and more likely.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has options however if Bellerin chooses to leave.

They could choose to replace a previous Barcelona prospect with another, in 22-year-old Emerson Royal.

He could be prised away for a fee of around £25million.

The young Brazilian completed an average of 4.64 tackles and interceptions per 90 minutes last season and has been reliable in defence for the Catalan giants.

If Bellerin was to join Inter, then perhaps they could work a swap deal for highly rated defender Achraf Hakimi.

This would seem unlikely however, the 22-year-old Moroccan is one of the brightest prospects in the Italian league and would command a huge fee of around £70mill.

Swapping Hakimi for Bellerin is – from Inter’s perspective – strange.

Norwich’s Max Aarons is another option that Arteta may look at. The 21-year-old had a good season with the Canaries and would be a fitting replacement for Bellerin.

Another highly touted English right back that will one day make Southgate’s pick that little bit harder, he’s knocking on the door for a place in the England side.

The young defender is cool and collected on the ball, and would likely cost around £30mill, which compared to other English right-backs is peanuts.

Arteta looks set to lose several defenders this summer such as Sead Kolašinac, David Luiz, and Shkodran Mustafi. So, he will need to be on the ball with finding suitable replacements.

The Ben White saga is still up in the air, as Arsenal’s top defensive target seems to be moving closer to Manchester City.

Arteta will need to strengthen where he has lost, and that is primarily looking in defence now.

To work on moving back up the table next year, Arteta needs the funds and backing to do so.
