Arsenal boss Arteta showing ‘serious interest’ after Boey’s dream move emerges
Arsenal are reportedly showing serious interest in Galatasaray right-back Sacha Boey. The player’s dream is to play in the Premier League and Mikel Arteta could make that happen this summer.
Signing a right-back isn’t set to be at the top of Arteta’s agenda heading into the upcoming transfer window. However, it is a position that he could add further depth to.
Ben White has played the majority of the season at right-back, while Takehiro Tomiyasu has struggled with injuries in the last 18 months. Arteta hasn’t been able to rest White at all of late and Tomiyasu’s injury meant he could not move the England star into the middle of defence in William Saliba’s absence.
Spanish youngster Ivan Fresneda was linked with a move to Arsenal in January. But now Boey is a new name that can be thrown into the mix of those rumoured to be a target for the Gunners.

Turkish outlet Aksam claims Arsenal are ‘seriously interested’ in signing the 22-year-old. Sporting Lisbon, Udinese and Lyon are also named as admirers.
Former France youth international Boey has spent the last two seasons at Galatasaray after joining from Rennes in the summer of 2021. This season has been his most productive in terms of appearances, featuring in 28 of his side’s 31 league matches so far, scoring once and providing three assists.
Aksam says Galatasaray have already received contact from clubs interested in Boey. The Turkish giants will review the offers for him and their other players at the end of the season.

Boey still has two years remaining on his contract at Galatasaray. However, he admitted earlier this year he is hoping for a move this summer, with the Premier League his preference.
In an interview with Transfermarkt, as relayed by TuttoMercatoWeb, Boey said: “Being followed flatters me but it’s not a conditioning factor. As I often say to my friends: ‘The math is done in the end’.
“This is why I hope that the interest shown in January can turn into something concrete at the end of the season. My dream remains the Premier League, like most players. And then it’s a league that fits well with my aggressive style of play.
“I like the Bundesliga too. There are fullbacks who push, play throw-ins, fight. I think I’ve grown defensively but I’m missing attacking numbers a bit.”
