Arsenal are going 'nowhere' under Mikel Arteta, says Graeme Souness

Liverpool legend Graeme Souness insists he sees no signs of improvement at Arsenal under Mikel Arteta.

The Spaniard was appointed as Unai Emery’s replacement in December 2019 and he guided the Gunners to FA Cup glory at the end of the last campaign.

However, Arteta’s side have lost ten of their 23 matches so far this term and they’re 11th in the table ahead of this afternoon’s clash against Leeds United.

Souness says the FA Cup has bought Arteta more time but he insists he barely pays any ‘attention’ to the Gunners now because they’re a ‘mid-table’ team.

Arteta could hand a full debut to Martin Odegaard against Marcelo Bielsa’s side this afternoon.

Bernd Leno has served a one-game ban and will return in goal but Thomas Partey is set to miss out after sustaining a hamstring strain.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is expected to start for the first time in over three weeks.
