The agent of Genoa defender Radu Dragusin has revealed that Arsenal and Tottenham have both reached out to him to discuss a potential January move for the 21-year-old. Dragusin has played every minute in Serie A for Genoa this season and is proving himself to be useful at the back for the Italian side, who look set for a relegation battle over the coming months.
Dragusin spent last season on loan at Genoa from Juventus before making the move permanent in the summer but is already being linked with a January exit. His strong form is reportedly attracting suitors from the Premier League, with Arsenal and Tottenham thought to be tracking his progress ahead of the winter market.
His agent, Florin Manea, has now confirmed that the two north London rivals have already contacted him about Dragusin’s availability. Newcastle have also been in touch with Manea as of late, with Dragusin the subject of ‘almost weekly’ meetings in advance of the January window.
“I have been in London for some time and have almost weekly meetings with important teams,” said Manea. “We are getting closer. I spoke with Newcastle, with Arsenal, with Tottenham. I also have messages with them, conversations. There are teams that ask [about Dragusin].”

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has trusted Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba at the back this season, with the pair starting alongside each other more often than not for the Gunners. However, Jakub Kiwior and Ben White are the only logical replacements in the absence of new signing Jurrien Timber, who is currently sidelined with a long-term knee injury,
Tottenham, meanwhile, are thought to be on the lookout for defensive reinforcements with Micky van de Ven set to remain on the treatment table until next year. Newcastle boss Eddie Howe may also be hoping to strengthen at the back in January following injuries to Dan Burn, Sven Botman and Emil Krafth.

It remains to be seen whether Dragusin will end up moving to the Premier League in January, with the Romanian defender clearly admired by some of the country’s biggest clubs. Italian outlet TMW have reported that he has a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ with Genoa that he will be allowed to leave for a fee of around £26m next year.
Dragusin recently admitted that he would love to test himself in England’s top flight if the opportunity arises while naming Liverpool ace Virgil van Dijk as an influence on his playing style.
“This [Premier League] is the championship I like, which is to my liking,” Dragusin told AntenaPLAY. “It is a league that I follow and I hope to play there in the future. I am at Genoa, my favourite team is the national team. There are many rumours but there is nothing written. I never had a role model or idol. I say that I’m similar to Van Dijk, but I don’t have an idol.”
