There is seemingly a stark contrast in injury situations at both Arsenal and Liverpool heading into their crunch fixture this weekend. There was a bleak outlook on Arsenal’s season after they opened the campaign with three consecutive defeats while the likes of Liverpool enjoyed a strong start.
But Mikel Arteta has managed to turn things around impressively with Arsenal now undefeated in their last 10 games across all competitions.
Liverpool’s unbeaten run came to an end just before the international break as West Ham recorded an impressive 3-2 win at the London Stadium earlier this month.
Now just two points separate Arsenal and Liverpool in the table heading into their match on Saturday evening.
And Jurgen Klopp has a number of issues to face following the international break with several players picking up knocks.

Jordan Henderson, Andy Robertson, Divock Origi and Sadio Mane all suffered injuries for their respective nations.
It is touch-and-go on several players while Roberto Firmino, Naby Keita, Joe Gomez, Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones all remain sidelined.
Liverpool were undone by injuries last season and Klopp will be hoping a similar scenario doesn’t repeat itself this time around.
There were similar concerns at Arsenal during the international break in the case of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Thomas Partey.
DON’T MISS
Aubameyang returned home early from his international duty with Gabon, but Goal report that it was ‘pre-planned’.
It is stated that there is no injury concern for Aubameyang and he will be fit to play on Saturday.
Partey was arguably the bigger worry though after he picked up a thigh strain which forced him to miss the 1-0 win over Watford.
He also played no part for Ghana in their two World Cup qualifiers against Ethiopia and South Africa.
But London World report that Arsenal are ‘confident’ Partey will be fit to feature against Liverpool.
Having both players fit and available for Arteta will come as a huge boost as Arsenal have the chance to leapfrog Liverpool in the table.
For Liverpool, they’ll be hoping to get back to winning ways after their defeat by West Ham and keep track of Chelsea at the top of the table.
Arsenal also have the added benefit of having a less hectic festive schedule due to their lack of European football, which will give Arteta’s squad more time to rest between fixtures.
