Arsenal ace Oleksandr Zinchenko goes mad in the stands after Bukayo Saka penalty

Oleksandr Zinchenko couldn't hide his emotions as Bukayo Saka scored Arsenal's winner against Liverpool.

The Gunners came away with the spoils on a topsy-turvy afternoon in north London that swung one way and the other in a Premier League classic. Saka's 76th minute spot-kick penalty after Gabriel Jesus had been taken out by Diogo Jota proved the difference as Mikel Arteta's men returned to the top of the table, much to delight of their fans – and Zinchenko.

Unable to feature due to a muscle injury, the former Manchester City watched his team-mates from the stands and couldn't contain his excitement as Saka stuck his spot-kick past Alisson.

Victory moved Arsenal back to the top of the Premier League, having briefly relinquished their spot at the summit after Manchester City's 4-0 demolition of Southampton on Saturday.

Saka, who scored a brace on a memorable afternoon for the Gunners, said that success over Liverpool was a sign of how much they are progressing as a group.

"In the past two or three years, Liverpool have been a team we have struggled against. To win in front of our fans is special and it shows how much we are progressing," he told Sky Sports.

"It gives us more confidence because they are a fantastic team and we have a lot of respect for them. I feel like we deserved to lead at half-time so to get that goal was crucial. I want to score more now."
