Arsenal legend Dennis Bergkamp has been revealed as the sixth inductee into the new Premier League Hall of Fame.
Bergkamp joins fellow Premier League legends Roy Keane, Frank Lampard, Alan Shearer, Eric Cantona and Thierry Henry in receiving the top-flight's most prestigious individual honour.
"It feels special to be part of a small group of players who got the recognition of playing in the strongest league in the world," said Bergkamp. "I’m honoured."
The Dutch maestro was one of the first foreign players to make a significant impact in the Premier League after joining Arsenal from Inter Milan in 1995.
"I’m extremely proud if people say that I was one of the first foreign players who added something to the English game," Bergkamp continued.
"The Premier League most definitely made me a better player. From the moment I arrived in England I’ve embraced the English mentality and passion for football, it suited me and my style of play.
"Playing every game against good and tough opponents meant I improved all the time. I’ve enjoyed every minute of it."
Bergkamp was a wizard with the ball at his feet with his technically ability bamboozling opposition defences and helping Arsenal to three Premier League titles under Arsene Wenger.
He scored 87 goals and contributed 94 assists in 315 top-flight matches for the Gunners, but there are two strikes that stand out in particular..
His superb turn and finish against Newcastle in 2002 was voted by fans as the best goal in the Premier League's first 25 years – and he produced a similar effort as part of a hat-trick against Leicester in 1997 too.
The Dutchman is the sixth inductee into the Premier League's Hall of Fame, with more players set to be confirmed later this week.
