Antonio Conte was convinced to take up the reins at Tottenham after watching Amazon documentary ‘All or Nothing: Tottenham Hotspur’ according to reports. The former Inter Milan and Chelsea manager has put pen to paper on an 18-month deal in North London, believed to be worth around £13million per year.

An explosive three days at Tottenham has seen Spurs lose 3-0 at home to Manchester United, dismiss manager Nuno Espirito Santo, and hire Conte in what could be a landmark 72 hours for the club.

The North Londoners are currently languishing in ninth place in the Premier League after suffering five defeats in their first 10 matches of the season.

Only Newcastle United and Norwich City have a worse goal difference than Spurs, and if they are to challenge for the top four, they will need Conte to quickly turn the tide.

And after three days of high intense drama more than worthy of a television series, it has been reported by the Daily Telegraph, the Italian boss was convinced to join the club ‘after watching the Amazon documentary.’

It’s believed Conte researched the club by watching the nine part series that offers a glimpse inside the club during the 2019-20 season which saw both Mauricio Pochettino and Jose Mourinho manage the side.

Conte was reportedly impressed by the operations of the club presented in the series, as well as the characters of the different players and personnel.

The series may have been the deciding factor guiding Conte’s decision to return to the Premier League.

Conte enjoyed an equally dramatic two seasons at Chelsea in what was his first managerial spell in the Premier League.

He replaced interim manager Guus Hiddink, who was brought in to stabilise the ship after Mourinho was sacked for the second time by the club.

After winning his first three Premier League matches, Conte was knocked off course by a 2-2 draw with Swansea, followed by humbling defeats to Liverpool and Arsenal.

However, a reversion to a 3-4-3 formation and the empowerment of previous fringe players such as Victor Moses, was the catalyst of a Premier League title charge which saw Chelsea go on a spectacular 13 game league winning streak.

They did not let their lead slip, as Conte went on to become only the fourth manager to win the Premier League title in their first season.

However, a public falling out with top goalscorer Diego Costa as well as disagreements with the board, culminated in the Blues finishing in fifth position in the Premier League.

An FA Cup finish did add a gloss to a frustrating season, but it was not enough to prevent his sacking.

He soon moved on to Inter Milan where he led them to the Europa League final in his first season, and then their first Scudetto title in ten years the following campaign.

However, he resigned from the club in May, after they informed him, they would likely need to sell top players such as Romelu Lukaku and Achraf Hakimi.

Trophies, fireworks, and drama tend to follow Conte wherever he goes – it would almost make a perfect documentary series.
