Antoine Griezmann provided an inspirational half-time talk to his France teammates during their World Cup quarter-final victory against England on Saturday.

Though Gareth Southgate’s side systematically dampened the influence of France talisman Kylian Mbappe throughout the opening 45 minutes, Griezmann’s movement and passing proved a constant thorn in England’s side.

With the defending champions entering the interval with a one-goal lead thanks to a strike from Aurelien Tchouameni, L’Equipe reported that the Atletico Madrid star made an impassioned rallying cry to his teammates.

Adrien Rabiot also warned his fellow players to avoid complacency in their World Cup quarter-final triumph

‘We may never play for a World Cup semi-final again – we all want to live it. We can’t go home tonight guys, we have to do more!’ Griezmann said.

Former Manchester United target Adrien Rabiot also reportedly took the opportunity to remind his teammates to maintain their concentration and avoid becoming complacent.

Despite Griezmann’s rousing battle cry, England emerged from the break seemingly reinvigorated, and levelled the game through a Harry Kane penalty after 54 minutes.

Griezmann would go on to produce the assist for Olivier Giroud’s winning goal in the second half

The former Barcelona star’s impressive performance continued however, and he provided the inch-perfect assist for Olivier Giroud’s header to put Didier Deschamps’ side back in the lead.

Rabiot’s calls for his teammates to avoid complacency would later prove foreboding as an unnecessary push from Theo Hernandez on Mason Mount would grant England another spot kick.

This time though, Kane was unable to convert from twelve yards and France held on to progress to a World Cup semi-final against Morocco on Wednesday.
