Antoine Griezmann has played down any speculation linking him with a move to Manchester United, as he admits he wants to become an Atletico Madrid ‘legend’.
The Frenchman has enjoyed a resurgence to form in Diego Simeone’s new look-Atletico team.
Griezmann has eight goals in 12 games so far this season as his side sits fourth in La Liga behind classic rivals Barcelona and Real Madrid and surprise leaders Girona.
He was initially linked with a move to United when Jose Mourinho was in the dugout, but chose to join Spanish rivals Barcelona instead.
The experienced France international suffered a horrible few years at the Nou Camp but now, being back at Atleti, it seems he has his sights firmly set on cementing his legacy in the capital.

Speaking to Marca, Griezmann said: ‘I’ve to earn myself to be a legend in this club. That’s my mission.
‘By 2024 I want to bring joy to the fans and some title for Atlético. It would be a dream.’
Griezmann clearly means to stay in Spain and has no intention of moving in January, but he has been linked with a move to England for years.
This will be a blow to Erik ten Hag as he searches for more reinforcements for his forward line.
United want to ease the burden on new £72m signing Rasmus Hojlund and may look to secure an experienced and versatile player in the January window.
Hojlund has been a success in Europe, slotting five goals in the Champions League, but is yet to get off the mark in the league.
Ten Hag is also facing a dilemma with Griezmann’s international teammate Raphael Varane, with the ‘unhappy’ centre back linked with a move to German giants Bayern Munich.
The Dutchman has denied a fallout with Varane but has consitently selected Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans over the Frenchman to partner Harry Maguire.
