Martial has scored twice in his last four games in Premier League wins over Wolves and Chelsea and played 85 minutes of the FA Cup semi-final victory over Brighton.
‘The France international strained his hamstring towards the end of Sunday’s 2-1 win against Fulham at Old Trafford,’ United posted in a statement on Tuesday.
‘Assessments have since revealed a muscle tear that rules the 27-year-old out of the Wembley showdown.’
There are rumours circulating that United are looking to sell Martial in the summer – meaning the Frenchman may have played his final game for United.
Martial joined United from Monaco in 2015, registering 88 goals and 53 assists across 298 games for the Red Devils.
But he has struggled with both form and injury this season and his time at United may well be coming to an end.
Martial stormed down the tunnel after being replaced in United’s win over AFC Bournemouth earlier this month and it has been reported that Erik ten Hag is keen to offload him.
Ten Hag has made no secret of his desire to bring in a new striker and the club have been strongly linked with Tottenham’s Harry Kane and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.
Before a summer rebuild, though, United are attempting to stop Pep Guardiola’s side from achieving a treble and face City at Wembley on Saturday.
