  • Reports claim Spurs and Newcastle made loan offers to the wantaway striker
  • However, Martial wants to move abroad, with Barca, Sevilla and Juve all linked

Anthony Martial has reportedly turned down approaches from Tottenham and Newcastle as he holds out for a move abroad.

The wantaway Manchester United striker is looking to leave Old Trafford this month and is looking for a new challenge away from the Premier League.

And while Spurs and Newcastle were willing to offer the Frenchman an escape route from his United nightmare, he has decided against a loan move to either club, according to the Guardian.

United are seeking a loan fee for Martial and would like the forward’s £150,000-a-week wages to be paid in full.

Sevilla, Barcelona and Juventus have all been linked with a loan move for Martial but terms are yet to be agreed with any club.

Tottenham are understood to be searching for cover for Harry Kane up top while the Magpies are looking to bolster their squad in all positions as they look to beat the drop.

Sevilla appear to be leading the race for Martial but are believed to be unwilling to cover his full wages.

Martial made headlines for the wrong reasons again at the weekend when United’s interim boss Ralf Rangnick claimed the striker refused to travel with the squad to face Aston Villa.

‘He didn’t want to be in the squad,’ said Rangnick. ‘He would have been in the squad normally, but he didn’t want to. That is the reason why he was not travelling with us yesterday (on Friday).’

But the French striker took to social media to deny those allegations, insisting he would ‘never disrespect the fans’ after a long career at Old Trafford to date.

Martial wrote on his Instagram story: ‘I will never refuse to play a match for Man United. I’ve been here for 7 years and I never disrespected and will never disrespect the club and the fans.’

Sportsmail understands Rangnick has spoken to Martial about their public spat with the Frenchman said to feel let down by Rangnick’s comments.
