Angry Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp rages at two players vs Chelsea
Klopp admits past successes have helped him keep Liverpool job
Jurgen Klopp was left furious by Joel Matip and Ibrahima Konate in the first half of Liverpool’s Premier League clash with Chelsea. Without Virgil van Dijk, the German unloaded his rage on the duo during a nervy start by the visitors at Stamford Bridge.
Liverpool struggled to gain control of the early proceedings against a Chelsea side that looked revitalised under Bruno Saltor’s interim watch.
The Blues were opening up Klopp’s men from all angles as they shook off the cobwebs of Graham Potter’s recently-terminated tenure.
And they would’ve been disappointed not to have taken advantage of initial shortcomings from the Liverpool defence.
Klopp, livid on the sideline, made his frustrations at his two centre-backs known with animated gestures from the visitors’ technical area.
He unleashed his fury at Matip for leaving acres of space for Enzo Fernandez to enjoy down Liverpool’s right.

The 55-year-old then turned his attention to Konate, who kept his place after Saturday’s 4-1 thrashing at Manchester City, demanding similar improvement.
Klopp made six changes to the team that were mauled at the Etihad Stadium, dropping a handful of big names to the bench.
Van Dijk was missing through illness, while Harvey Elliott was also excluded from the squad.
Elsewhere, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andrew Robertson, Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah made way for Joe Gomez, Kostas Tsimikas, Darwin Nunez and Roberto Firmino.
And the changes showed as Liverpool struggled to find their footing from the off in west London, being somewhat fortunate not to fall behind in the opening minutes.

Chelsea failed to find a breakthrough during their majority period of dominance, but Liverpool finished the strongest before half-time.
There have been no goals in the last seven hours of Chelsea vs Liverpool, despite the plethora of chances on show during that period.
But both teams desperately need a Premier League win to reignite any hope of Champions League football next season.
Chelsea were 12 points off the top four before kick-off, while Liverpool had lost their previous three games at AFC Bournemouth, Real Madrid and Man City.
There could be increased impetus after the break. After all, Saltor wouldn’t be able to make more of a statement in his maiden match as a head coach than toppling the Reds.
