Amad’s stats show what type of star Man Utd have signed after Sociedad cameo

Amad took just a few minutes to show the type of player that Manchester United have signed as he made his first team debut on Thursday night.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer finally let his newest recruit loose in the 4-0 win over Real Sociedad this week as teenage winger Amad made his bow.

With the game already won and United in a dominating position ahead of the second leg, Amad was finally given a brief chance to show fans what he can do.

But that was all the Ivorian needed it seems, as he showed the exciting style in which he operates from the off.

According to Squawka on Twitter, Amad completed three successful take-ons against Sociedad, more than any other player on the pitch, despite entering the fray in the 82nd minute.

Solskjaer admitted that he felt Amad had been given enough time to settle in and that this was the ideal time for him to make his debut.

"He's getting closer and closer to his minutes by the day," he told BT Sport.

"That is why we felt towards the end when we were 3-0 up to go and let him enjoy his first 10 minutes for the club."

The 18-year-old could be handed his first start in the second leg next week, with the majority of the hard work already done.

But Solskjaer was insistent that he would not rush Amad’s development, and would make the call after Sunday’s clash with Newcastle.
