Alex Scott has been revealed as the new host of BBC’s Football Focus.

Former Arsenal star Scott had been heavily linked to the role after impressing on Sky Sports and Match of the Day 2.
She becomes the first female host of the Saturday lunchtime magazine show, which has been running ever since 1974.
Confirming the announcement on Twitter, Scott released a video via the BBC thanking everyone for their support, including Walker.
She said: “I just wanted to send a quick message to let you all know how excited and honoured I am to be announced as the new Football Focus host.
“It is not lost on me, one bit, because I know how iconic the show is and what a big deal it is.
“But I would like to take a moment to thank Dan Walker, for yes, being an amazing host for all these years, but I think for me, being the amazing human that you are.
“Knowing that many years ago telling you that I wanted to be in a position such as this and you taking the time to help me develop, hone my skills, and get to this position, so I will be forever grateful for that and just wanted to say thank you.
“And, a big thank you to all my other colleagues for their support and for you guys for sending me the messages of congratulations that you have.
“I see them, I appreciate them, and for me, it’s really humbling to read the messages of support that you’ve all sent across so thank you.
“Now, I just need to embrace it, I hope you embrace it, I hope you stay with us, I hope you grow with us.
“I will try to bring my best self to that Football Focus chair and we’re going to have some fun so thank you and I will see you all in August in the Football Focus chair.
