FC Twente and Ajax generally have a positive relationship, so it comes as a shock that what is suggested to be two of the clubs’ stakeholders have clashed.
Ajax lost 3-1 to Twente on Sunday as their below-par season concluded with the side finishing third in the Eredivise.
Berghuis was booked after coming on as a substitute and was unable to help his side end their campaign with a vicotory.
Dusan Tadic had opened the scoring for the visitors, before Manfred Ulgade, Julio Pleguezuelo and Vaclav Cerny struck to ensure Twente won the game and finished fifth.
