Adidas 'stop selling Arsenal's new home kit after blunder is spotted'

Adidas STOP selling Arsenal’s new home kit after embarrassing blunder on Invincibles-inspired design is spotted, as angry supporters fume mistake is ‘beyond a joke’

  • Arsenal’s home shirt for the 2023-24 season honors their historic Invincibles
  • However, Adidas have stopped sales after customers spotted a glaring error
  • Not all of the club’s 38 league results have been embroidered on the design

Adidas have seemingly been forced into stopping sales of Arsenal’s new home kit after eagle-eyed customers spotted an embarrassing mistake on the design.

According to several disgruntled supporters, the sportswear giant is said to have made a blunder on the authentic version of the home strip for next season.

The club unveiled the striking jersey in May and revealed the design had taken inspiration from the heroics of their Invincibles side from the 2003-04 campaign.

Arsene Wenger’s heavyweights had clinched the Premier League title without losing a single league game and Arsenal chose to toast their achievement 20 years later.

Indeed, the new shirt was pieced together to pay homage to their historic feat through stitching on the white trim down the sides of the red top.

The authentic home strip for next season is not available to purchase on the club’s webstore

The record of 26 wins and 12 draws should have been emblazoned on the jersey in the order of each result, although this is where the error has been noticed.

Customers believe that only 32 of the 38 league games have been featured.

According to them, the draws with Portsmouth and Birmingham as well as four victories across the course of the season have been clumsily left off.

The shirt is now not available to buy from the Adidas or Arsenal websites.

On the club’s webstore, the shirt appears to be out of stock and not for sale. At Adidas’ online shop, meanwhile, only the standard version is available for purchase.

According to The Sun, Arsenal confirmed the design mistake in an email.

‘We’ve become aware of a design error with the current 23/24 Authentic Home Shirt. Consequently, we’re unfortunately unable to fulfill your order at this time,’ it read.

‘We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused and will be cancelling and refunding your order in full.

‘We are currently reviewing when the new 23/24 Authentic Home Shirts will be available, but in the meantime please see our 23/24 Replica Home Shirts which are available now and ready to ship.’

A host of players modelled the striking shirt but supporters will have to wait to get hold of one

One supporter took to social media to criticise the error, saying: ‘£110 for that kit, should be spot on. It’s beyond a joke. How have they got it wrong?’

Another said: ‘Just got mine. Rather disappointing it doesn’t have all 38…’

‘Thank goodness I haven’t bought mine yet,’ a third added.

A fourth account simply joked: ‘A recall incoming.’
