9 celebs you had no idea support Chelsea from Gordon Ramsay to ex-Liverpool star

Over the last decade Chelsea have established themselves as one of England's most successful football clubs.

In the last 10 years they've won two Champions League trophies, two Premier League titles, two FA Cups, two Europa Leagues and one League Cup.

That haul of silverware is a remarkable collection and one which will have attracted not only a new generation of fans, but also some big name celebrities.

Stamford Bridge has had a fair few famous faces in attendance due to their success, and there are some hardcore celebs who have supported the Blues for decades.

Daily Star Sport are taking a look at nine of them.

Gordon Ramsay

Before becoming the worldwide phenomenon he is today, Gordan Ramsey went on trial and trained with Rangers, but it is Chelsea who he loyally supports.

The chef has been seen sporting a Blues kit on many occasions and he gets down to the Bridge when he can.

As every good Dad should do, Ramsay has passed on his love for his team to his children, who he introduced to former captain John Terry at one match.

Which of these celebs surprised you most? Let us know in the comments section.

Bill Clinton

Former President of the United States of America Bill Clinton is such a true-blue that he named his only child after them!

His daughter ended up being called Chelsea after Bill had grown an affection for the club while studying at Oxford University in the 1960s.

He visited Stamford Bridge several times during his stay in England.

Jeremy Clarkson

Like Ramsay, former Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson has made no secret of his Chelsea support.

He is a regular game-goer and even loves an away day following the Blues.

Videos of Clarkson celebrating the Champions League final win against Man City last season went viral as he got merry on the streets of Porto.

Lil Wayne

Despite being born in New Orleans, rapper Lil Wayne has taken a liking to Chelsea, possibly because they've won as much metal as he wears around his neck.

He's appeared on stage wearing Chelsea clobber on more than one occasion, but it yet to visit the Bridge.

Shane Warne

They may play a different sport but cricketers love football as much as everyone else, and legendary Australian bowler Shane Warne opted to be a Chelsea fan.

It's a decision he didn't have much choice over, though.

Warne told the BBC: "I had caught the train from Bristol to London and was on the tube when some guy with a Chelsea scarf and Chelsea stuff all over him came up to me and said 'who do you support?'.

"I looked at him and in his hand, he had a big knife — a bit like the one Paul Hogan had in Crocodile Dundee when he says 'that's a knife'.

"So I said I'll support Chelsea. And ever since then, I have been too scared to support anyone else."

Will Ferrell

American comedian and actor Will Ferrell is as big a Chelsea fan you'll find amongst their celebrity following.

He was even made their honorary captain for a pre-season match against Inter Milan in 2009.

Ferrell must have quite the kit collection too having been seen in a number of different Blues strips over the years.

John Motson

Football commentators and referees often get asked who they support – but when he did, iconic broadcaster John Motson lied for decades!

Motty claimed to support Barnet throughout his career, but his true love lied elsewhere.

He revealed in his book: “You can’t evade the question for ever – especially when I look up from my desk while writing this and see two shelves of Chelsea programmes covering 40 years up to 1985.

“When I got to Match of the Day in 1971 Chelsea figured in my first, faltering commentary. Somehow my Chelsea loyalties were pushed into the background.

“It was essential that I sounded unbiased and neutral when I was at the microphone.”

Sir Michael Caine

He may have been well-known for his south London accent, but Sir Michael Caine's football team allegiance falls in the west of the English capital.

The highly-regarded actor has been a fan of the reigning European champions his whole life.

Peter Crouch

Peter Crouch came close to joining Chelsea towards the end of his journeyman career – and it would've brought his life full circle.

The former Liverpool striker was a ball boy at Stamford Bridge at the age of 10.

His whole family support the club and they took him to games when he was a child.

It didn't stop him scoring the winning goal against them for the Reds in the 2006 Community Shield, though.
