Arsenal are eyeing a double move for Brighton’s Ben White and Tariq Lamptey this summer, but are likely to sell before they can buy. The Gunners missed out on European football for the first time in 25 years due to finishing eighth in the Premier League last season and will need to get their transfer business right in this window to push for a top four place next campaign.
Defence is a key area of the pitch Mikel Arteta is likely to strengthen, with White and Lamptey two players the north London side are keen to recruit.
But which first-team players could Arsenal sell in order to fund moves for the pair?
Express Sport have explored the possible options available to Arteta…
Alexandre Lacazette
The French striker has only one year remaining on his current contract at the club and could be sold this summer, to avoid losing the 30-year-old on a free transfer in 2022.
Lacazette has hit double figures in each of his four Premier League seasons and has been a successful signing since his move from Lyon in 2017.
Arsenal are highly unlikely to recoup the £46.5million they paid to bring the forward to north London, but would be confident of securing a respectable fee.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles
A player that seems certain to leave this summer.
Maitland-Niles spent the second half of last season on loan at West Bromwich Albion having fallen out of favour at Arsenal.
The 23-year-old is keen to be playing on a regular basis and is prepared to leave the club, should Arteta be able to guarantee that next season.
“Where they [Arsenal] see me. If it works out it works out, if it doesn’t then kiss Arsenal goodbye. It’s been a long journey but a proud one at that,” said Maitland-Niles in a recent interview with the Telegraph.
Lucas Torreira
Torreira spent last season on loan at Atletico Madrid and looks to be heading for the Arsenal exit doors.
The Uruguayan midfielder is reportedly being considered by Lazio as part of a swap deal for Joaquin Correa, who the Gunners are interested in purchasing from the Serie A side.
Hector Bellerin
Hector Bellerin’s eight-year Arsenal stay could be coming to an end this summer, with the future of the Spaniard up in the air.
The 26-year-old has been a fantastic servant for the club, but a transfer switch could be in the best interests of both parties.
Arsenal would be confident of securing a sizeable fee for Bellerin, who has two years remaining on his deal.

Sead Kolasinac
It would appear unlikely that there is a future at Arsenal for Sead Kolasinac.
The Bosnian left-back spent the second half of last season on loan at Schalke and is likely to be shipped out of North London again – this time on a permanent deal.
Kieran Tierney has the left-back spot nailed down at the club, with Kolasinac now surplus to requirements.
Joe Willock
Joe Willock is in high demand after a successful loan spell at Newcastle United last season.
The 21-year-old was in fine form for Steve Bruce’s side, scoring eight goals in 14 appearances for the club, and is wanted on a permanent basis.
Arsenal are believed to have placed a £20million price tag on Willock.
Eddie Nketiah
Rumoured to be a target for newly-promoted Premier League side Watford, Nketiah could be on the move after struggling for game time at the Emirates.
Nketiah started only four league matches last season and will recognise that a transfer away from the club is likely to be his best chance of regular minutes.
The 22-year-old has one year remaining on his contract, so Arsenal will need to cash in this summer.
Kostas Mavropanos
The Greek centre-back has hardly featured for Arsenal since joining in 2018.
Mavropanos has spent the last two seasons out on loan and seems certain to move on.
Stuttgart are leading the race for his signature, though the Gunners are only set to receive a fee in the region of £7m.
