5 stars Tuchel could target this summer with Chelsea boss allowed to spend big
When Thomas Tuchel arrived in London, the Blues were faltering in mid-table; they were hobbling to a less than spectacular season, and they didn't have a lot to shout about.
And then the German arrived: Tuchel quickly took Chelsea on an unprecedented undefeated streak that lasted 14 games.
He has since claimed the scalps of Pep Guardiola'sManchester City, Zinedine Zidane's Real Madrid, and Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid – twice.
Chelsea have gone from a broken side to potential champions; Tuchel's hard work hasn't gone unnoticed either, and Roman Abramovich is set to open his war chest for some big summer signings…
Erling Haaland
Where hasn't Erling Haaland been linked to at this point?
But there's a reason for that, Haaland is a generational talent, and when a player with the Norwegians skillset becomes available you have to move quickly.
Chelsea need guaranteed goals, and Haaland provides that, however, he won't come cheap with Borussia Dortmund asking for a whopping £154million – according to ESPN.
Haaland also comes with the risk of a bidding war – with just about every European club sniffing around hoping to secure the 20-year-old's services.
Romelu Lukaku
There's a famous adage in football: 'never go back,' but Romelu Lukaku has unfinished business at Stamford Bridge, and after winning the Serie A with Inter, he could be ready for a new challenge.
Lukaku's goals fired Inter to their first scudetto in over a decade, and for the first time in nine years, Juventus were denied Italy's top prize.
The Belgian spent three years at Chelsea, making only ten appearances, however, the Lukaku then and the Lukaku now are two completely different players.
Again, he wouldn't be cheap, and the Belgian would cost upwards of £102million.
Sergio Aguero
Top trending sport stories right now
In potentially the strangest name on this list, Chelsea could move for Manchester City's Sergio Aguero.
Aguero, who has spent the last ten years at City, confirmed he will be leaving the Etihad at the end of the season – when his contract is up.
The Argentine seems almost certain to end up in Barcelona next season – to play alongside his close friend Lionel Messi – however, there is a small chance he could remain in England.
Aguero would join without a transfer fee, however, the 32-year-old could demand upwards of £200k-per-week in wages.
Achraf Hakimi
Tuchel has flipped between Reece James and Callum Hudson-Odoi at right wing-back this season.
However, the German could move for Hakimi – who is a more natural option as a wing-back.
Like Lukaku, the Moroccan was a stand-out of Inter's scudetto winning side, and – as a result – he has drawn interest from both Arsenal and Chelsea.
Last season, when he was at Dortmund, Hakimi was one of the most proactive right-backs in world football, and he has continued that form into this campaign.
Declan Rice
Declan Rice was once part of Chelsea's youth set-up, and alongside his best friend, Mason Mount, he turned heads as a potential prospect.
However, in 2014 – when he was 14-years-old – he was released.
It's safe to say things have since worked out for young Declan; he joined West Ham and worked his way up through the ranks to emerge as one of England's most precious talents.
Chelsea, on the other hand, are now keen on bringing Rice back to the club – but the Hammers could demand £100million for his services.
