3 Premier League clubs who must go all out to sign frustrated Robert Lewandowski

Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski could be set for a move away from the German champions with the Polish forward ready for a new challenge.

According to Sky Sports, Lewandowski wants to join another top European club before he turns 35 in two years, with the forward turning 33 this weekend.

Bayern value him at £100million with his contract not expiring until 2023, which is likely to price the player out of a move this summer.

However, Lewandowski is happy at the club and is not prepared to do anything that would harm his relationship with the club.

After 297 goals in 331 appearances in seven years at Bayern, Lewandowski is ready for a new challenge in his career and could be set for a Premier League move.

However, there are only three English clubs who are realistic destinations for the current FIFA and UEFA player of the year.

Manchester United

Manchester United have been linked with a move for Lewandowski twice in the past in 2015 and 2017 but were unable to prise him away from Germany.

At present, the club's only natural striking option is Uruguayan veteran Edinson Cavani who's contract expires at the end of this season.

The 34-year-old made just 19 starts last season and has not had a full pre-season after only returning from quarantine this week.

Therefore, a move for Lewandowski would greatly improve Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's attack as United look to mount a title challenge.

Manchester City

Where should Lewandowski look to go next? Let us know in the comments section.

Pep Guardiola has been looking for a new striker this summer after the departure of Sergio Aguero at the end of last season.

City have spent most the window pursuing Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane but are growing frustrated due to Spurs not dropping their asking price.

Lewandowski presents a cheaper alternative to Kane but his age will be a concern to City, who are not prepared to go back in for Kane next summer for this reason.

Guardiola managed Lewandowski at Bayern for two seasons, with the Poland striker scoring 67 goals in 100 appearances.

Liverpool

Lewandowski would present the Roberto Firmino upgrade that Liverpool fans have been after for a number of seasons.

Having made just one signing so far this season, funds could still be available for Jurgen Klopp to reunite with Lewandowksi this summer.

The pair previously worked together at Borussia Dortmund as they won two Bundesliga titles in four seasons, with Lewandowski scoring 102 times in 186 matches.

Other Clubs

Chelsea have been linked with Lewandowski in the past but are highly unlikely to move for the player this summer, having just signed Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan for £95million.

Arsenal propose little to no appeal for Lewandowski after failing to qualify for Europe last season and are struggling domestically.

Friday's defeat to Brentford has further added to the pressure on manager Mikel Arteta and the uncertainty over his future all but ends any Arsenal interest.

As for the rest of the league, even clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City have no chance of signing Lewandowski this summer due to not playing Champions League football.

Lewandowski is not expected to join a Premier League club that is outside the league's traditional big six clubs.
