These two fierce rivals have been doing battle since 1894 — when Everton beat Liverpool 3-0 in front of 44,000 fans at Goodison Park, two years after leaving Anfield and moving across Stanley Park.
In the 129 years since, Liverpool have built an impressive lead in the head-to-head standings, winning 98 to Everton’s 67, with 77 draws. And Ian Rush’s 25 goals are the most by a player in the fixture.
