Eddie Jones suffered a humiliating start to his second stint in charge of Australia as his woeful Wallabies were crushed 43-12 by a half-strength South Africa in Pretoria.
Wing Kurt-Lee Arendse scored a hat-trick of tries as a Springboks B ran riot at Loftus Versfeld.
The Boks were also awarded two penalty tries and got another from flanker Pieter-Steoh du Toit in the bonus-point win at the start of this summer’s Rugby Championship.
The Aussies have now lost on all seven of their trips to Pretoria and former England boss Jones could have few complaints. ‘They put us under so much pressure,’ said Aussie captain James Slipper.
