Manly’s Tom Trbojevic has been given critical clearance to play one more club game ahead of NSW picking their Origin II squad after a head knock which was initially set to rule him out this weekend.
Trbojevic was collected high in last Wednesday’s Origin opener by Queenslander Tom Flegler, who was sent to the sin-bin for the offence and later hit with a grade two careless high tackle charge.

In a statement on Tuesday morning, the Sea Eagles said they had undertaken a lengthy process internally and externally looking at Trbojevic’s health after the high tackle.
Manly CEO Tony Mestrov said that despite Trbojevic being removed from the field, he had not sustained a concussion.
“Our chief club medical officer, Dr Paul Bloomfield, agreed that Tom had to be removed from the field but at no point was he diagnosed with concussion,” Mestrov said.
“Furthermore, Tom does not have a history of concussion issues.
“Throughout this process, Tom has not been diagnosed with concussion from either NSW Dr Nathan Gibbs, Dr Bloomfield, or independent doctor, Dr Chris Levi.”
“Tom will line up for the Sea Eagles on Friday night.”
Under the NRL’s new concussion protocols, Trbojevic would be subject to an 11-day stand down if he was found to have sustained a concussion, meaning the star fullback wouldn’t have another game ahead of Blues coach picking his Origin II side after round 15.
