Security needed cubicle key to march shirtless Elliott out of bar
An employee needed a key to open a toilet cubicle door for security to remove a shirtless Adam Elliott from a Gold Coast restaurant in front of bemused patrons, as new details of the Bulldogs player’s toilet tryst with an NRLW star emerged.
Elliott, 26, could be served a show-cause notice from the Bulldogs as he desperately fights to save his NRL career after his latest off-field scandal, with his manager David Riolo launching a passionate defence of the one-club man.
According to sources familiar with the situation on Sunday night, Elliott was shirtless when he left the White Rhino restaurant after being sprung in the men’s bathroom with childhood friend Millie Boyle.
Boyle is alleged to have followed Elliott into the area shortly before 11pm when the pair then locked themselves in a cubicle. Shortly after, a restaurant employee knocked on the door, but didn’t get a response.
The employee was then forced to retrieve a key to have the cubicle opened and found Elliott without a shirt on before security grabbed him on the arm. He was then taken out of the restaurant onto Cavill Avenue while still not fully dressed, much to the surprise of diners.
While Boyle told News Corp earlier this week the incident was just a “kiss in the bathroom” and a “big kerfuffle about nothing”, the Bulldogs have taken a dim view of Elliott’s latest misdemeanour, which happened after he had drunk alcohol for the first time in seven months.

The club has the option of handing Elliott its own breach notice after he was previously embroiled in the club’s Mad Monday scandal in 2018, as well as being quizzed over an incident earlier this year involving former teammate Michael Lichaa, who found Elliott “making out” with his fiancee at a February party hosted by the pair.
Bulldogs general manager Phil Gould said on Wednesday he couldn’t guarantee Elliott, who has been stood down from the club’s last two games, would still be at the club after the latest incident.
The NRL fined Elliott $10,000 on Thursday for “bringing the game into disrepute and failing to comply with biosecurity protocols”. Boyle was given a warning.
But the damage could be far more serious for Elliott, who still has two years left on his lucrative deal with Canterbury after rebuffing a big-money offer from the Warriors last year to stay at Belmore.

Riolo defended his client on Thursday and told the Herald: “I just hope this hasn’t been beaten up and some sort of attempt to have a player dismissed so it helps create some cap space for the club.
“I don’t think it’s a great look and the situation was unfortunate for all. But I still think it has been an over-reaction to an incident when you consider everything that’s going on in the world right now, it’s quite minor and [an incident] that wouldn’t have had a huge impact on the club.”
Canterbury chairman John Khoury said the club was yet to decide whether further disciplinary action would follow.
‘I don’t think it’s a great look and the situation was unfortunate for all. But I still think it has been an over-reaction to an incident.’
“The NRL have just issued their proposed sanction to Adam and per process, he and his manager will have five days to review and respond to that,” Khoury said. “The club is continuing its own process within and will determine if further or additional club action will follow.”
It has been widely speculated the Bulldogs are under cap pressure next year after going on a big spending spree, landing the signings of Josh Addo-Carr, Tevita Pangai jr and Matt Burton for next year.
Elliott stands to collect around $1 million over the next two years.
Gould said the club decided to keep Elliott in the Bulldogs’ biosecurity hub for his mental health before the club’s final two matches against the Sea Eagles and Tigers.
Trent Barrett’s side has already been confirmed as wooden spooners and have won only two games this season.
