NRL players’ families approved to join Queensland hub
The Queensland Government has given the all-clear for the families of players from Sydney-based NRL clubs to join their partners.
The approval came on Monday night, and will see families fly out on Wednesday morning.
They will undergo a mandatory 14-day quarantine period which will take place at an NRL-managed hub in Surfers Paradise.
They were set to fly to Queensland last Saturday, but those flights were cancelled and left the families in limbo.
NRL clubs in NSW fled the state last week after Covid cases rose and restrictions tightened, leaving the league with no other alternative than to set the teams up in various hubs across southeast Queensland.

The families will be joined by Benji Marshall, who stayed behind in Sydney for the birth of his second child.
However, the veteran star will still have to undergo a 14-day quarantine period despite having stayed under bubble restrictions in Sydney.
Marshall is on track to return for the Rabbitohs in a mouth-watering clash against the Eels in Round 21.
Wayne Bennett’s side sits in third place on the ladder, just two points behind the Melbourne Storm and Penrith Panthers.
Should the Bunnies maintain course and remain on-par with those two clubs, it places extra emphasis on their clash against the Panthers in Round 23.
