‘I got what I deserved’: Gold Coast streaker has no qualms with security tackle
The streaker who was on the end of a textbook tackle from Gold Coast Titans security has declared she had no qualms with the big hit, having now ticked off a “bucket-list” item.
Vision of a security guard tackling Gold Coast local Javon in the closing stages of Parramatta’s win against the Titans on Saturday night has prompted debate, with some pundits saying the hit was overzealous.
Javon, who declined to give her surname when speaking to Triple M Cairns on Monday morning, said she got what she deserved.
“The tackle was honestly fine. It was more so just how much air I got. That made it look so much worse. But he could have grabbed me and I would have fallen over,” she said, after claiming to the radio station she was the woman involved in the incident.
“I think it’s fair play. I got what I deserved. He should keep his job.”
While the interruption to Sunday’s Sharks-Tigers match appeared to be politically motivated, Javon said her decision to streak was simply to tick off a “bucket list” item.
“I know exactly what I did. It’s been a bucket-list kind of thing,” she said.
“But also . . . when your friends tell you to do it, you don’t think you’re going to do it. It was such a surreal and out-of-body experience.”
Javon said the whole incident – in which she ran from one end of Cbus Super Stadium to the other – was a blur, and explained why she felt the need to remove her top.
“The adrenaline of the crowd – you just hear this big roar – and I immediately thought I had to take off my top now.
“I was so close to doing my bra, but I thought that was a bit far.
“I can’t believe how far I got. You can’t even see anyone. It just happened so fast.
“But I used to play AFL, rugby and had three brothers, so getting tackled was not a problem.”
