Huge crowd news for NRL
Crowds will be welcomed back to NRL games from Thursday after league officials confirmed the schedule for a full round of games in Queensland.
As lockdown rules are lifted, stadiums in Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast can host crowds up to 50 per cent capacity.
Teams have played for two weeks without any fans after South East Queensland was sent into lockdown.
But they will be allowed back as per Queensland Health directives. The state recorded three new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday.
“We’re really looking forward to welcoming fans back to our games in round 22,” NRL chief executive Andrew Abdo said
“I’m particularly excited to see Redcliffe hosting a double-header on Sunday and the Sunshine Coast having the opportunity to host two games across the round. These are excellent outcomes for fans in both regions.”
