Bulldogs blow as Bruce ACL tear confirmed
The Western Bulldogs’ premiership hopes have taken a blow after the club confirmed forward Josh Bruce had ruptured his ACL.
Bruce did the injury in the final seconds of Sunday’s loss to Essendon. He will miss the rest of 2021 and likely most of 2022.

“Josh had scans this morning which have confirmed an ACL injury to his left knee,” Western Bulldogs head of sports medicine Chris Bell said.
“We’re devastated for him and will do everything we can to support him through this period.
“We will work through a plan with Josh for surgery over the next couple of days.”
After a tough start to life as a Dog in 2020, Bruce had blossomed in 2021.
He has kicked 48 goals and played every game, equal second in the Coleman Medal race.
The Bulldogs are on top of the ladder by percentage although fourth-placed Melbourne could go clear in first spot if they beat West Coast on Monday evening.
