Brisbane Broncos bloodbath is officially in full swing
After their 46-0 thumping at the hands of the South Sydney Rabbitohs on Thursday night, Brisbane Broncos coach Kevin Walters promised that “everyone is in the firing line”.
It hasn’t even been 24 hours since the loss, but the axe has reportedly already swung at Red Hill.

According to Channel 7 reporter Chris Garry, Broncos’ General Manager of Football Operations Peter Nolan has been pushed out the door as one of undoubtedly many dominoes soon to fall.
“Broncos head of football Peter Nolan is among those being moved on from Broncos. This is a difficult day for many people at the Broncos,” Garry tweeted.
Channel 9’s Michael Atkinson is also reporting Andrew Croll, the Broncos’ Head of Performance, has been let go.
As for the players, news leaked on Thursday that forward Tevita Pangai Jr will find himself donning new colours possibly as early as this season, and he confirmed the news after the disheartening loss.
“They got me in on my day off and told me I’m free to look elsewhere,” Pangai Jr said.
“I thought I was under contract, but contracts don’t mean much these days. So I just have to cop it on the chin and get my manager to do his job.”
Matt Lodge is another star heavily linked with a move away from Suncorp Stadium.
Walters has struggled to get his side firing this season. Aside from a shock upset over the Sydney Roosters in Round 11, the Broncos haven’t inspired much confidence in their fans.
But the 53-year-old first-year mentor remains defiant in the face of major adversity.

“For mine I see the Broncos as always being an urgent club,” Walters said after the loss.
“Everything we do needs to be first class and professional, that hasn’t happened in the last three or four years.
‘Take it back as long as you want, the Broncos have not been great for a long time. It is not just something that happened overnight, it has gradually happened to us.
“It would be wrong for me to single out one thing because when we are in the position that we are clearly there is a lot of things going wrong.
“If we don’t change things they’re going to stay the same.
“Everyone has had 15 weeks to prove themselves and their value on the football field.
“We are all under the microscope, not just players, coaches, performance staff, everyone is in the firing line.”
