The race for eighth spot explained
Essendon sit eighth at the moment. Fremantle are 10th, but are equal on points.
If Fremantle win and Essendon lose, then the Dockers take eighth spot.
If Fremantle win and Essendon win then the Bombers make the finals on percentage.
A Fremantle loss means they miss finals.

Saints, Dockers struggle from distance
The first game is St Kilda v Fremantle.
Both sides have struggled to convert from outside the 50-metre arc this season. St Kilda has recorded 7.16 from that distance, posting a scoring accuracy of 30.4 per cent – ranked 16th. Fremantle has scored 9.23 from that distance – posting a scoring accuracy of 28.1 per cent – ranked 17th.
