Ryusei Yamanaka experienced a huge scare in practice for the Moto3 Grand Prix in Valencia on Friday.
The 19-year-old was sent hurtling over his motorbike after crashing into Sergio Garcia, landing on his head.
The terrifying incident saw the Japanese rider flip his bike going at 225km/h – just below 140mph.
Luckily, Yamanaka got up on his feet soon after the incident happened and is believed to be okay.
It occurred in practice with the youngster going top speed down the main straight and in Garcia's slipstream.
However, he was late on the brakes and clipped his Honda teammate – who miraculously stayed on his bike.
Yamanaka was not so fortunate and the immediate aftermath saw him going over his handrails and skid along the track with his head.
As he came off, the rider slid with his vehicle from the track into Turn 1 and into the gravel.
Medics rushed to the scene and at first, the situation did not look good.
But Yamanaka was soon communicating with staff before being stretchered off and taken away.
MotoGP confirmed that the teenager had been taken to Circuit Ricardo Tormo for a check-up.
Incredibly, he still hopes to race in today's race in Valencia and is keen on getting the all-clear from doctors to be allowed to get back on his bike.
Yamanaka is in his first year at Moto3 level after finishing fifth in the 2019 Moto3 Junior Championship last year.
But he has just 13 points from 12 races and will hope for better results to come, currently sitting near the bottom of the standings.
