Williams team principal Jost Capito has stepped down from his role as team principal just two years into the role. This comes amid a big shake-up at the constructor with technical director Francois-Xavier Demaison also leaving the team.
The departures come after a disappointing season which saw the team amass just eight championship points leaving them bottom of the constructor’s championship. The British constructor finished bottom of the constructor’s standings 27 points behind nearest competitor AlphaTauri.
Williams Racing said that the German was ‘stepping aside’ from his role during an announcement on Twitter. The manufacturer said: “Williams Racing announces that after two years at the helm of the Grove-based outfit as CEO and team principal, Jost Capito is stepping aside.”
