Football-mad Sebastian Vettel will have been looking to put Germany’s Euro 2020 exit at the hands of England behind him at this weekend’s Austrian Grand Prix – but his team at Aston Martin had other ideas.
The four-time world champion only joined the Silverstone-based British team this year but they wasted no time in ribbing him for Tuesday night’s defeat.
A video posted on their Twitter account shows Aston Martin engineers adorning Vettel’s locker with several England flags and a sign reading ‘2-0, IT’S COMING HOME’, before they filmed the 33-year-old’s entry into the locker room.

Vettel is a passionate Eintracht Frankfurt fan, and has spoken about his love of watching Bundesliga, Premier League and Champions League football in his spare time. He won’t have enjoyed Tuesday night though as Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane struck to knock his countrymen out of the Euros.
Having left Ferrari at the end of last season, Vettel is 10th in the Drivers’ Championship standings with 30 points from the first eight races.
After finishing 12th at the Styrian Grand Prix last weekend, Vettel will be hoping for a better performance this weekend at the same Red Bull Ring venue in Spielberg.
