Footage from the festival has shown the former Formula One driver driving his vehicle before it sets on fire.
He then manages to navigate himself onto the grass before jumping out of the car to save himself.
The incident was captured on video, with his brother Suhail posting to Instagram to discuss what happened.
‘Scary moment for @karunchandhok minutes ago @goodwoodrevivla in the iconic GTO,’ he wrote.

‘Most importantly just really glad he’s ok but I have to say that save, car control and presence of mind to quickly get it off circuit and onto the grass was IMPRESSIVE.
‘We thought we were done with stressful moments as a family of a racing driver but guess that’s the nature of the beast.’
Karun later broke his silence after his impressive escape, revealing what went wrong as he showed how his boot had been melted in the fire.
He said: ‘Lucky to get away with that with nothing more than a melted boot.
‘Something went bang and seized up the back wheels and sent me spinning.
‘Such a shame to end a race in my dream GT car like that but happy to get out ok!’
The Goodwood Revival Festival is running this weekend as it is listed as an ‘immersive celebration of iconic cars and fashion’.
They will be hoping that there is no further drama after Chandhok’s situation on Saturday.
