McLaren driver Lando Norris and Chief Executive Zak Brown linked up with one of golf’s biggest names in Ian Poulter, as the pair joined the European Ryder Cup hero on the course.

Following Sunday’s United States Grand Prix in Austin it seemed the McLaren duo stuck around in the city to join Poulter at The Hills Country Club in Texas, as the 12-time European Tour winner showed them the ropes.

Poulter shared the meet up on his Instagram feed, posting an image of the trio together with their clubs in front of the stunning Hills Country Club views.

Accompanied with the post the Englisham wrote: “Great afternoon’s golf with @landonorris & @zbrownceo Nothing beats a good drive. Next time it’s on your track let’s get the cars out”

It seemed the next time Poulter crosses paths with the Mercedes pair he himself is hoping to have a go on the racing track, to which former driver Martin Blundell commented: “Make sure you get 2 new sets of tyres abs painted in @arsenal colours @ianjamespoulter might cost you @zbrownceo.”

As well as an image of Poulter, Brown and Norris together, the Ryder Cup stalwart also shared pictures of him sharing his wisdom with the racing duo, with an image of him adjusting Norris’ swing, and another of him in deep conversation with Brown.

The Mercedes CEO also took to Instagram himself to share his experience of the day on the course, accompanying his post with the caption: “It wouldn’t be a visit to Austin without a round of golf! Thanks for the tips @IanJamesPoulter”

Poulter then took to the comments to respond to Brown’s post, once again pleading with the Mercedes man to swap sports the next time around.

He commented: “As you love to set goals… If I can get you to shoot under 78 can I get a run out in the F1 car???”

And it seems the golfer is in luck, as Brown replied: “You have a deal!”

Like Brown and Poulter, Norris also shared his day out with the pair on his Instagram, posting a number of images from their round with the caption: Hitting holes with the pros”

Again, the Ryder Cup veteran made his voice heard in the comments section and this time was extremely complimentary of both his golf game, and driving.

Poulter replied: “A pleasure to see 12 months of hard work paying off. The desire to be great other than in F1 is impressive. Won’t be long before your driving is as good as the track.”

Norris was not the only Formula One star to hook up with the 15-time European Tour winner whilst out in Texas, as Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz joined the Englishman for a round ahead of last Sunday’s race.

In a video shared by the PGA Tour on Twitter, the sporting duo were seen linking up in Austin for a quick fire lesson, before 11-handicapper Sainz took on Poulter out on the course.
