Lewis Hamilton has hit back at Mercedes after finishing tenth and scoring one point on Sunday. Hamilton was running as high as sixth at one stage after starting on the hard tyre and staying out after an early safety car. 

Daniel Ricciardo and Fernando Alonso later stooped on the track and there was hope hamilton could benefit from a Virtual Safety Car.  However, bith cars stopped on the entrance to the pitlane which saw officials close it. 

It means Hamilton had to stay oiuyt and pity under grene flag conditions, falling back down the order towards the end. After the race, Hamilton’s engineer Bono said: “OK Lewis, that’s P10. Sorry about that. 

Hamilton replied: “Is there even a point for that position?

The seven-time champion suffered his worst qualifying since 2017 yesterday after being knocked out of Q1. Hamilton qualified 16th on Saturday, the first time he has been knocked out of the first part of qualifying on pure pace since 2009. 

He was only able to start 15th after Mick Schumacher pulled out of the race due to his high-speed crash.
