Lewis Hamilton gets gloomy as Max Verstappen told he ‘will never be GOAT’
Max Verstappen and Red Bull have bounced back in style at Suzuka this weekend following a miserable trip to Singapore last time out. The Dutchman has been the man to beat throughout Saturday’s action.
The Dutch driver was eliminated in Q2 at Singapore before recovering to P5 with that result ensuring that his ten-race winning streak came to an end just one race weekend after moving clear in the record books.
Verstappen and the RB19 have been at one with each other on the legendary Suzuka circuit, topping all three practice sessions ahead of Saturday’s qualifying session as Red Bull laid down a marker to the rest of the field.
This has been a far less convincing weekend for Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes. The seven-time world champion finished outside of the top ten in both of Friday’s practice sessions before recovering to an underwhelming P7 in FP3.
