Hamilton opens up on plans to remain in F1 ahead of 2023 season
Lewis Hamilton has been told Felipe Massa’s legal threat was unlikely to be successful as threats of legal action hang over the Mercedes star. The ex-Ferrari star has pledged to explore legal avenues to challenge the 2008 crown after remarks made by Bernie Ecclestone.
The ex-F1 CEO suggested bosses did know about Renault’s race-fixing scandal and the Singapore Grand Prix should have been voided. If the Grand Prix was deleted, Massa would be champion after he finished outside the points at Marina Bay.
But, Ex-F1 driver Tiff Needell feels Massa would not get the result overturned a staggering 15 years later. Meanwhile, Hamilton has also been told he could have “damaged” Max Verstappen’s career if the two had been team-mates early on.
The assessment was made by Hamilton’s team-mate George Russell while looking into Verstappen’s early success. Former Red Bull driver Robert Doornbos has revealed he was attacked by thieves in the Netherlands. He reportedly lost his phone and watch after being clubbed over the head by the assailants.

George Russell feels Lewis Hamilton could have affected Max Verstappen if he faced the Briton earlier on.
Verstappen starred at Red Bull as a youngster before facing Hamilton seven years into his Grand Prix career.
But, Russell has suggested things could have been different for the Dutchman if he had joined the same team as Hamilton earlier on.
He said: “If Max might have gone to a team like Mercedes and had to face a peaking Lewis Hamilton there, that could have damaged his career.”

Hamilton is unlikely to lose title
Lewis Hamilton is unlikely to lose his 2008 title despite Felipe Massa’s threat of legal action, according to ex-British F1 star Tiff Needell.
The former Ensign driver admitted it would be wrong to cancel events now 15 years after Hamilton secured the crown.
It comes after Massa stated he was looking into legal avenues to challenge the title after a series of remarks from Bernie Ecclestone.
Needell told Express Sport: “You can’t cancel it now. From that race on people ran tactics from the points that were on the board.
“If he’d appealed for the race to be null and void but I guess they didn’t know it was deliberate.
“As soon as they had announced it, if they had put an appeal in then, then maybe. There’s a time limit.”

Red Bull driver attacked by thieves
Robert Doornbos has opened up on losing his phone and watch affair thieves attacked him in the Netherlands.
It is understood a GPS tracker was used to determine Doornbos’ movements, allowing the attackers to pinpoint his location.
They reportedly hit him over the head and stole the goods just weeks ago on March 18.
He told De Telegraaf: “It was intense. I no longer wear expensive watches, only an Apple Watch, so at least I can count my steps.”
