George Russell delivers foul-mouthed message over Lewis Hamilton at British GP
Lewis Hamilton shows off his impressive surfing skills
Lewis Hamilton was the subject of a furious radio message from Mercedes team-mate George Russell at the British Grand Prix. Russell appeared to be frustrated that he was behind his fellow Brit when speaking to the team as he looked to move up the grid and join Hamilton and Lando Norris alongside Max Verstappen.
When being given information from the Mercedes garage, Russell was told that McLaren’s Oscar Piastri was ahead of him, who was being led by Hamilton.
Russell then asked if Hamilton was being “boxed” and also told they he stayed out, instead of pitting, which did not please Russell who exclaimed: “Ah f*** alright.”
Russell had struggled at the time to get the better of Piastri with two Brits ahead of them in Hamilton and Norris, as a safety car set up an enthralling final few laps at Silverstone.
Russell was seriously impressed with McLaren on the team radio, also, as Norris and Piastri qualified in P2 and P3 respectively but remained at the top of the grid when the question was whether they could keep hold of their pace on race day.
He said that they looked strong on the questionable hard tyres and that the team were “impressive” shortly after Norris was able to hold off Hamilton as the seven-time world champion looked to go on the inside of his fellow home driver on lap 40.
