F1 star Carlos Sainz gives savage response when asked to sign Barcelona top
F1 star Carlos Sainz made his allegiances perfectly clear as he was asked to sign the shirt of Spanish giants Barcelona.
Sainz, who is fourth in the drivers' championship, was mobbed by a group of excited fans as he attempted to drive his personal car through the streets earlier this week. With Sainz's window wound down, one cheeky chappy sensed an opportunity to get the 27-year-old to sign his Barcelona shirt.
Holding out the top and a felt tip pen, the man shouted "Forza Barca" as the Ferrari driver trundled past. But upon hearing those two little words and seeing the Barcelona top, Sainz – a Real Madrid fan – said: "No, I'm not signing this," in his native tongue and drove off.

Spaniard Sainz is a big Real Madrid supporter, having been born in the city. His reply elicited howls of laughter from other supporters gathered around his car and received plenty of comments on social media.
"Don't blame him one bit," wrote one social media user. As another said: "As he should. King, honestly." A third person added: "This is one of the reasons why I f***ing love this guy."

A fourth user commented: "My new goat." While another impressed person chimed in with: "Guess who's gonna shift from being a McLaren fanboy to a Ferrari fanboy now."
Sainz showed the same instinctive winning qualities as his favourite football team to claim his first F1 win at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone earlier this month. He wasn't able to follow that up with a second success at the French Grand Prix last week after being dropped to the back of the grid for taking a new engine.
However, with the help of a safety car he still managed to fight his way back through the field and claim a fifth-place finish – a result that could have been even better had his Ferrari team got their strategy right.
Sainz will be hoping to continue his good run of form at the Hungarian Grand Prix on Sunday as Ferrari look to return to the top step of the podium after a disappointing showing last time out.
