Formula One’s ruler Mohammed Ben Sulayem was under the microscope last night after it emerged that he said he didn’t like ‘women who think they are smarter than men’.
The Emirati former rally champion, who took over the governing FIA 13 months ago, was ambushed by remarks he made on his old website, mohammedbensulayem.com some years ago.

Laying out, as the website put it, his likes and dislikes, he is alleged to have said: ‘I don’t like talking about money, nor do I like women who are smarter than men, for they are not in truth.’
Ben Sulayem, 61, has endured a torrid week.
He was criticised for suggesting F1 was not worth £16billion, calling Saudi Arabia’s claimed buyout bid at that rate an ‘inflated price tag’ — a comment that triggered a rebuke from the sport’s owners Liberty Media, who accused him of ‘overstepping’ his remit.
