Saints QB Taysom Hill feared to have suffered mallet finger injury; could require surgery

Taysom Hill did not miss a play despite sustaining an injury in the New Orleans Saints’ loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night.

However, Hill’s future is uncertain due to the mallet finger injury he suffered, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Friday. Hill is feared to have torn a tendon in his middle finger on his right hand that will necessitate surgery at some point, Rapoport reported. More tests are upcoming.

Hill banged his throwing hand on a Cowboys pass rusher’s helmet in Thursday’s loss. In between possessions, Hill went into the medical tent and had a splint put on his finger, but missed no plays.

Around the NFL will have more shortly.
