Kyle Pitts posts eye-opening 40 time at pro day, earns Calvin Johnson comparisons

Florida Gator Kyle Pitts put on a show at pro day.

The nearly 6-6, 245-pound tight end is, arguably, the most dazzling offensive weapon overall in the 2021 NFL Draft, and any team looking to add an explosive and dynamic playmaker will be in on the Gator.

While Pitts’ phenomenal 2020 season in Florida put him in the first-round, his performance at Florida’s pro day may have solidified top-10 standing in this year’s draft. Pitts posted an unofficial 4.44 40-yard dash, which is ridiculous for his size.

To make Pitts’ run even more impressive: He was coming off his line, meaning he could have been even faster had he stayed straight.

Pitts’ measurables even drew some comparisons to recent Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee Calvin Johnson, with his wingspan making headlines, as the longest in more than 20 years.

Pitts is coming off an eight-game season with Florida, catching 12 touchdown passes and tallying 770 yards, winning the 2020 John Mackey award for the nation’s most outstanding tight end.

The Pitts question will be answered on April 29, the first night of the 2021 NFL Draft.
