How much money would Tom Brady make for winning the Super Bowl?

There’s a long list of reasons why players might want to win the Super Bowl.

Tom Brady’s list is just one item longer than the rest. Of course, he’s been there, done that to the tune of six rings already. But the 2021 Super Bowl, between the Buccaneers and Chiefs, provides Brady a chance to win in a non-Patriots uniform for the first time.

That’s not the reason we’re talking about, though. Brady has a Super Bowl bonus built into his two-year contract with Tampa Bay. And while he’s earned a boatload of money during his NFL career, what’s wrong with wanting a bit more?

How much would Tom Brady make for winning the Super Bowl?

Brady built a number of postseason incentives in to the first year of his contract with the Buccaneers. Those totaled $2.25 million, but by making it to the Super Bowl, Brady has already cashed in on $1.75 million of his bonus money.

By winning Super Bowl 55, Brady can earn an additional $500,000, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Brady already had a base salary of $15,000,000 for the 2020 season, so $500,000 isn’t even 10 percent of that. And he’s earned more than $250,000,000 in his career, which blows the $500K out of the water. But six figures is six figures.

How much do players make for winning the Super Bowl?

The winners’ share for Super Bowl 55 is $130,000 (compared to the losers’ share of $65,000).

Overall, if the Buccaneers win the Super Bowl, they’ll have made about $250,000 from the league for their wins in all the prior playoff rounds combined.

For Brady specifically, that means he’s looking at a potential $630,000 individual windfall if he wins his seventh ring, with $500K coming from the Buccaneers and another $130K from the NFL. Not a bad day’s work.
