Aaron Rodgers executes months-long ‘John Wick’ Halloween costume plan to perfection

Aaron Rodgers went Hollywood with his Halloween costume this year, and the Packers quarterback’s ensemble was not something he threw together at the last minute.

Rodgers recreated the New York taxi scene from “John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum,” where Wick (played by Keanu Reeves) tells his canine companion, “You’re a good dog” before rushing off to confront those who wish the hitman dead.

In Rodgers’ telling, he began planning this shoot months ago by starting to grow his hair out to resemble Reeves’ character. He dropped a big hint in September during a spot on the “Pat McAfee Show.” He said he was dressing up as “somebody who is a hero of mine who has longish hair.”

Earlier this month, he dropped an even larger hint with a #longhairlikekeanu hashtag on Twitter.

The product of all that planning can be seen in the Instagram post above.

Even better for Rodgers, he knew that the reveal wouldn’t interfere with game prep, because Halloween weekend this season fell after a Packers Thursday night game. Green Bay was in Arizona to take on the then-unbeaten Cardinals, with Rodgers and Co. escaping the desert with a 24-21 win thanks to a shocking end-zone interception.

So does the hair come off now that Rodgers has pulled off his grand plan? If sports superstition is still a thing (and it is), the answer probably is no: The Packers have won seven in a row after a Week 1 loss. Why mess with success?
